Teresa Woodruff, PhD is the Director, Women’s Health Research Institute, the world’s leading institute in women’s health research and sex differences research. She is Chief of the Division of Reproductive Science in Medicine, Feinberg School of Medicine and Professor of Molecular Biosciences at the Weinberg College of Arts and Sciences. In 1993, The National Institute of Health (NIH) Revitalization Act mandated inclusion of women in clinical research. Still, two decades later – only 37% of clinical human studies include women. In 2008, the Institute launched the Illinois Women’s Health Registry, which has recruited more than 7000 women to report their health status.
